IT: Sono tutte applicazioni interessanti, però la parte critica che vedo è la raccolta dei dati. Cosa può dirci a riguardo?
EN: These are all interesting applications, but the critical part I see is the data collection. What can you tell us about it?

I agree: collecting samples and labeling is the major issue in this field of applications. We find ourselves in the position to say no to a request for help in situations where the client would not be able to support during data collecting. Or sometimes it would be very useful to have access to datasets from competitors while not all companies are willing to publish for the benefit of an open community. This is particularly true when working on automotive, while medical is more open from this point of view.

IT: Siete a conoscenza di applicazioni nell’ambito della catena del freddo?
EN: Are you aware of applications in the cold chain?

We don’t have direct knowledge of deployed applications in the field of refrigeration but we’re studying the issue with a couple of very big players and hopefully at least one of the two will give us green light for experimenting a bit. We envision benefits in advanced refrigeration heat pump algorithms and of course in predictive maintenance, particularly for transportation (trucks with refrigeration unit).
