The ever-evolving world of technology boasts an exponential increase in new ideas and tools. Likewise, IoT technology and artificial intelligence adoption have led to tinyML becoming more widespread in healthcare. However, due to the large amount of data involved in healthcare and the enormous value that accurate predictions hold, integrating tiny machine learning (ML) algorithms into H-IoT is imperative. The rapid evolution of tinyML has brought about a drastic change in healthcare for developed countries. Its adoption has resulted in massive improvements in efficiency and quality of service, including cost reduction. These areas of application include intelligent medical devices, telemedicine, data analytics, and edge computing. However, not all communities are poised to take full advantage of it. Therefore, this presentation will explore the applications of tinyML in various healthcare domains such as diagnosis, prognosis, spread control, monitoring, and logistic systems. Also, why is it more relevant to resource-constrained communities?

MB Jallow currently works as a Product Manager at MarsCrowd, also the founder of allSTEAM and MegaTech. Prior to switching careers from Public Health to Computer Science, Jallow worked for more than three years as a Public Health Official for the Ministry of Health of The Gambia. He spent most of his tenure working at hard-to-reach health facilities in the rural Gambia during this period.
